Divisions
Mustang Division
The Mustang Division is where Pony Baseball begins to play a more complete level of baseball. 9 and 10 year olds play in a competitive division, where umpires are used and scores and team standings are kept. Pitching is done strictly by the players. Players will be allowed to lead-off and steal from 1st and 2nd base, and the mound has been stretched to 44 feet.
Shetland Division
The Shetland Division is a purely instructional, non-competitive division for 5 and 6 year olds. It uses a combination of T-ball and coach pitching and emphasizes teaching the basic rules and fundamental skills of baseball. We believe in developing an environment of friendly competition with little emphasis on winning — no scoring or stats are kept. All players will play the entire game, even if all players are present.
Bronco Division
This division is for ages 11 and 12. It takes the young player into the complete game of baseball, with no restrictions on base stealing. A seven inning game is played and players work to refine their playing skills and improve team effort. The bases are set at 70 feet. Pitching distance is 48 feet.
Pony Division
This division is for ages 13 and 14. This group represents the most serious level of play as players aspire to go on to play High School ball. Players have the opportunity to fine tune their skills and study game strategies. The Pony diamond has 6400 square feet with 80 foot bases and a 54 foot pitching distance.
